Scholarships in Ireland 

Ireland is now considered one of the most desirable destinations for international students with great universities for higher education. There are a lot of scholarships available for international students from a vast number of sources, such as the Government of Ireland, the Irish higher education institutions, and other organisations. Along with this, Ireland provides an excellent quality of life, reasonable cost, great atmosphere. Etc.

Some of the most prestigious scholarships for international students in Ireland are as follows: 

 

  • Government of Ireland – International Education Scholarships: – The Higher Education Authority of Ireland provides a scholarship for international students every year. Under this initiative, the government offers 60 scholarships for one year of study in bachelor’s, master or PhD levels to the candidates who have successfully received an offer for study at a reputed Irish institute. The students will receive €10,000 for a year’s research and a full fee waiver on the registration cost in the Irish institute.

  • Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme: – Funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, this scholarship is provided to the students who are researching emerging fields from all the departments of study. The scholarship offers- a stipend of €18,500 per year; a contribution to fees up to €5,750 per annum; and eligible direct research expenses of €3,250 per annum. Because of the scholarship benefits, there is a lot of competition among the students to get this scholarship.

University-specific Scholarships

  • UCD Global Excellence Scholarships: – University College Dublin is one of the top universities for international students in Ireland. It provides several Global Excellence scholarships to students. It covers 100% or 50% of the tuition fees. Depending on their region, there is a deadline for students to apply for the scholarship.

  • Trinity College Dublin – India Undergraduate Scholarships:– These scholarships are provided to Indian students who have completed their high school in India. €5000 are provided to the students for a full-time undergraduate programme for the first year only. The scholarships are merit-based and are applied as a reduction in the overall tuition fees of the student.

  • NUI’s South Asian Student Scholarships:– NUI is another choice for the international students that offers partial scholarships for the students who have an offer from their university. A merit-based scholarship from €1000 up to 50% of the tuition fees is provided to students. This scholarship is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

  • UCC’s International Merit-Based Scholarships: – This scholarship is provided by the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences to international students for which no separate application is required. A 20% or 10% fee reduction is offered to students at the offer stage only depending upon their previous academic performance.

  • Griffith College Cork Bursary and Academic Merit Scholarship: The GCC offers both bursary and academic merit scholarships to its students. The bursary is being provided to all the applicants who have an offer from the university. However, academic merit scholarships are offered to those students who have an excellent educational background. €2000-€3000 is being provided as a bursary. Depending upon the previous academic scores, €500-€1500 is offered to the students.

  • Kemmy Business School Scholarship: – This scholarship is offered to Indian undergraduate students who want to pursue a course in the Kemmy Business School. The scholarship provides a generous amount of €4279 to the students every year of study. The students eligible for this scholarship must have at least a 75% score in classes 11 & 12, including English and Maths.
