Application deadlines for Fall 2024

Below, you'll find the application deadlines for select top-tier U.K. universities.

1. University of Cambridge

Applications open in early September with two critical deadlines to consider: course and funding. Submit your application by the earliest of these deadlines, depending on your chosen course and funding status. Missing the deadline means automatic withdrawal, and all deadlines are at 23:59 (midnight) UK time.

Courses have fixed deadlines, and late applications are usually not accepted. Check your course entry for details and required documents in the course directory.

Avoid waiting until the last day to apply, as spots may fill up. Some subjects might have extended deadlines, so watch for updates on the course page

2. University of Oxford

Course deadlines are posted on the course page. While you have the option to apply to any listed deadline for your chosen course, it's advisable to aim for the earliest one.

Multiple deadlines for a course indicate that applications are processed in separate batches. Expect to receive a decision from your academic department roughly 8 to 10 weeks after your chosen deadline

3. Imperial College London

When to Apply: Most postgraduate courses accept applications until they reach capacity, with some exceptions. High-demand courses often fill up quickly, often starting in January of the year your course begins. Apply well in advance to secure your spot.

If you don't need a study visa for Imperial, we suggest applying by August 1st, the year your course commences, to ensure the timely processing of your application.

Fixed Application Deadlines: Certain departments, including Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Earth Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Life Sciences, Materials, and Physics, have set application deadlines for their postgraduate taught courses.

To find the specific deadlines for your course, please refer to their course pages.

Apply by midnight (UK time) on the corresponding application round deadline to ensure timely notification of your application outcome.

Applying early is advised, as availability may be limited, and courses may close in later rounds.

4. The University of Manchester

While there is typically no official application deadline for the majority of our taught courses and research programs, we strongly recommend applying as soon as you can.

If any programs have specific application closing dates, you will find these dates listed in the course details.

5. King’s College London

Refer to the 'Entry requirements' section on the dedicated webpage for your course, accessible through the course finder tool.

6. The London School of Economics and Political Science

Many of LSE's graduate programs do not have set deadlines and admit students continuously. Applicants can monitor program availability and apply promptly. Admission decisions for master's programs are typically announced approximately eight weeks after application submission.

For Fall 2024 postgraduate programs at top UK universities, understanding application deadlines is crucial. Institutions like Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College, Manchester, King's College, and LSE each have unique processes. Cambridge and Oxford have varying deadlines, so early applications are advised. Imperial College recommends applying early for popular courses. While Manchester has no set deadline, applying promptly is wise. King's College emphasizes meeting entry requirements, and LSE offers rolling admissions with decisions typically within eight weeks. This guide simplifies the process, but check university websites for the latest details. Good luck in your postgraduate journey!
