GRE and GMAT are two exams that have gained popularity these days. To pursue MS or MBA in the US at the nation’s top universities, students must score well in these exams.
As GMAT deals with MBA and thus directed related to B-Schools, GRE is considered vital if a candidate wishes to pursue MS in any field. And with the high competition and limited seats at the top colleges of the US, one needs to understand the score range they would need to get into a particular University.
GRE is scored on a scale of 130-170 sectionally, which brings the total score to 340. Every University expects a specific score range as their criterion for admission. This factor is considered along with the candidate’s GPA, SOP, and LOR, among other things.
The scores mentioned here pertain to two sections: Verbal and Quant.
This would mean that students must get a minimum required score in both sections.
For example, If a candidate scores above 160, they should do so for both sections. The top Universities accept a higher range of GRE scores.
