Step 3: Choose Exam and Test Center
Decide when and where you want to take the SAT, and then begin the registration process online. The registration process typically takes around 30 minutes to complete. However, you can start and return later to finish it.
Explore test center locations carefully. Not all test centers may have available seats, but you'll be able to view availability during registration.
Most students take the SAT for the first time in the spring of their junior year and again in the fall of their senior year.
Select your desired SAT exam date and test centre. Please note that valid identification, such as a passport or Aadhaar card, is required for registration in India.
Step 4: Upload Clear Photograph
Upload a photograph that meets the specified requirements outlined on the College Board website.
Your photo must clearly show your face in a head-on view and must match how you will look on test day.
Keep in mind:
-
If the photo you upload does not meet all the listed criteria, you won't be allowed to test.
-
A successful upload only confirms the correct file type and size—not approval of the image itself.
-
You can take a photo using a digital camera or smartphone, upload from a device or Facebook, or scan a printed image.
-
Acceptable formats include .jpg, .png, and .gif. You'll be able to crop and adjust the photo after uploading.
