IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an English Proficiency Test which can help you in achieving your milestone of studying abroad. Universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Harvard University, California Institute of Technology and many more accept candidates on their respective bands in the IELTS exam.
The IELTS exam consists of 4 sections which are Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. In this particular test, a candidate is examined on the basis of their scored bands. 1. Confidence

The Speaking and Listening Tests are the same in both the modules, but the Reading and Writing Tests are different. One should go for Academic Module if one wishes to study UG or PG level or if one wishes to seek professional registration other than that one should go for General Training Module if one wishes to migrate to an english-speaking country in order to study at below degree level.
3. Practice
Practicing more and more will help you in recalling things well in exams. Apart from that, enough practice also boosts confidence during the examination.
4. Stick to the Question
Try answering the questions to the point rather than over exaggerating or talking about anything which is irrelevant. There is no point in expanding answers and it's also of no use.
5. Stay updated with Current Affairs.
Keeping a check on current affairs is a must and that too global. Without knowing much about what's happening around the globe, one generally sometimes fails to answer certain questions. So keep a check!
